England get 2022 off to a winning start after coming from behind to win 2-1 against the Swiss

Gareth Southgate’s side are in action for the first time in 2022 as the countdown to the Qatar World Cup continues at Wembley.

England have just seven matches before the tournament gets underway in November, so time is running out for players on the outskirts of the squad to make an impact.

There are new faces expected to start for the Three Lions tonight, who will be without Bukayo Saka after the Arsenal man tested positive for Covid. Marc Guehi and Kyle Walker-Peters make their first senior international starts.

Both England and Switzerland are unbeaten since Euro 2020, and the visitors this afternoon have also already booked their place in Qatar.
