Erling Haaland is Barcelona's main target. But if they are unable to get him, Barcelona have back up options. Out of all of them, 'Mundo Deportivo' said that Xavi's preferred option is Mohamed Salah of Liverpool.

Salah's future is uncertain. Liverpool have reportedly offered him the chance to renew, but the proposal has not been accepted by the Egyptian, so he could pack his bags this summer. 

Barca are very alert to the situation. He is the alternative the club are most interested in if they are unable to sign Erling Haaland. If the La Liga outfit go for the Liverpool man, they would have Xavi's approval. 

'Mundo Deportivo' reports that Salah is the Barca's coach preferred option in attack if Haaland is not possible. He thinks the Norwegian would fit perfectly into his team. 

Xavi likes how Salah moves around on the pitch. He loves seeing him play on the right to make the difference and finish the move by scoring goals. 

According to the Catalan paper, Salah is preferred to Lewandowski and Lukaku, the other options Barca have on the table. 

Barca are in no rush over Salah. The plan is to wait a few more months and try and sort it out before June. That is because Barcelona are waiting for the agreement with CVC to be completed. Once that is agreed, they will have money to spend and they will know how many players they will be able to sign. Then, they will make the next move. 

But Barca have not given up on Haaland at all. 'AS' reports that Xavi is optimistic and he believes that Barca's 0-4 victory over Real Madrid in 'El Clasico' could be key to persuading the Norwegian to join the Catalans.
