It's primarily getting to a stage where VAR has to start using lie detectors to judge close penalty situations in the Premier League. Cedric literally used his hands to nudge the ball in another direction. He was clearly beaten by Jadon Sancho's amazing dribbling, he fell but he could have avoided touching the ball.
Sancho knew what he saw in there and he clamored for a penalty instantly. Cedric outsmarted the referee and it worked in the favor of Arsenal.
2. Romelu Lukaku diving into the box
Football is gradually becoming so soft and we are all cheering the antics of players to get cheap penalties. It's distasterous to see a big man like Romelu Lukaku can go down so easily inside the box. He was held with only one hand and he went down effortlessly.
Craig Dawson was shocked by that decision from the referee, he wasn't expecting a penalty because Lukaku was held from outside the box. Unfortunately, Dawson was given a straight red card by the referee.
3. Anthony Elanga being pulled down by Nuno Tavares inside the box
Craig Pawson is non-arguably the worst referee in the weekend games. His decisions were all against Manchester United. Despite all the calls for penalties by Manchester United players, the only time Pawson checked the VAR monitor was only twice.
Nuno Tavares pulling down Anthony Elanga inside the box was an intentional act. Nuno is being outrun by the pace and he held to the legs of the Elanga. How on earth will Elanga move in that situation? It was a clear penalty incident. Arsenal was lucky with the referee's decision on the weekend, a payback for how decisions have gone against them this season.
