Villarreal are into the Semi Finals of the Champions League following a 1-1 draw with Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena

Villarreal have shockingly knocked out early favourites Bayern Munich out of the Champions League.

Tuesday's Round of 16 second-leg clash at the Allianz Arena in Munich ended in a 1–1 draw (2–1) on aggregate.

Last week's first-leg showdown was won 1–0 by the La Liga side and many expected Bayern to make things right at home.

And while the Bundesliga giants scored a second-half goal through Robert Lewandowski, Samuel Chukwueze's goal saw Villarreal through.

Unai Emery's men will now face either Liverpool or Benfica in the semi-finals. The two sides play tomorrow and the current scoreline stands at 3–1.
