Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, gave Harry Maguire special permission to take a honeymoon following a $250k wedding.

ERIK TEN HAG, the new manager of Manchester United, has given Harry Maguire special permission to fly off on his honeymoon.

In a lavish wedding costing £250,000, England player Maguire wed Fern Hawkins, his childhood girlfriend, yesterday in a chapel in France.

It was "a day I'll never forget," the 29-year-old Red Devils skipper said.

Fern, a recent bride, continued, "I married the love of my life."

On Monday, the couple will depart for Italy's Amalfi Coast.

Ten Hag is already in town, and pre-season at Carrington is expected to start tomorrow.

Jadon Sancho, David De Gea, and Marcus Rashford are among the other players who are anticipated to come.

However, Maguire will have the upcoming week off so she can unwind with Fern and celebrate their union.

Even if Ten Hag wanted them in early, a source told the Mirror that he did not have to return until next week.

Harry constantly stays in shape, and in France, he went jogging with Jordan Pickford.

To secure a UK marriage certificate, Maguire and Fern underwent a registry office ceremony in Crewe last month.

And for yesterday's spectacular occasion in France, 30 of their closest friends and family members accompanied them.

When Maguire was 18 and a member of Sheffield United's junior team, the two first interacted.

They share children Lillie Saint and Piper Rose, and they got engaged in Paris in 2018.
