EXPOSED: 2 things Ten Hag reportedly told De Jong to convince him to join Man United

At first, Frenkie de Jong was reluctant to join Manchester United. However, the Mirror report that their new coach Erik ten Hag managed to change his mind.

First of all, the Dutch coach told De Jong that, in his opinion, Barcelona failed to get the best out of him during his three years at Camp Nou.

Second, Ten Hag reminded Frenkie of their joint time at Ajax, specifically of the 2018/19 season when they won the double and reached the Champions League semi-final. Perhaps the coach belives they can reach the same hights.

Although Man United will not be playing in the Champions League next season, De Jong is now open to joining the Red Devils. The clubs are yet to find an agreement regarding a final fee, though.
