Liverpool rejects £30m Bayern fresh bid for Mane and step up Darwin Nunez interest

Bayern Munich have seen a second bid worth £30m knocked back despite the Premier League club identifying his potential successor.

Mane looks likely to be on his way out of Anfield this summer
Liverpool have rejected a second bid from Bayern Munich, worth up to £30 million, for Sadio Mane, and are interested in signing Darwin Nunez this summer.

Benfica striker Nunez, 22, has been identified as a target to bolster Jurgen Klopp’s attack, although the Uruguay international is also wanted by other clubs including Manchester United.

Mane is wanted at Bayern and strongly hinted that he wants a fresh challenge through comments during international duty with Senegal. But so far the German champions have fallen well short of the 30 year-old’s valuation.

Liverpool are prepared to break their transfer record of £75m - paid for Virgil van Dijk - for Nunez. United are also looking at him as a No 9 option but their budget has been hit by failing to reach the Champions League.

Nunez recently switched representation and is on the books at Gestifute, the company of super-agent Jorge Mendes, who have moved Fabinho and Diogo Jota to Anfield in shrewd deals for Liverpool.

Liverpool have yet to make an official bid for Nunez but it is thought that the player is interested in coming to Merseyside to be part of Klopp’s squad for next season.
