Clubs Favored by VAR's Poor Decisions in EPL Match Week Four

English Premier League for match week four ended yesterday with the top six teams cruising to victory and fighting for the EPL trophy this season.

In some of the matches played last weekend, the video assistant referee once again made some poor decisions that favored some clubs and affected their respective opponents and this article states those clubs the VAR helped in week four.

1. Chelsea Football Club:

Match: Chelsea & Leicester.

The blues were favored by the VAR last week after they canceled Leicester's goal in the first half due to a reported foul offense. According to the review, a Leicester player went for the ball and didn't make any clear contact with Chelsea's Edouard Mendy

The visitors were denied their early lead as it affected them, resulting in their defeat and favoring the blues.

2. Manchester City:

Match: Manchester City vs Crystal Palace.

Pep Guardiola's Manchester City was also favored after they made a wonderful comeback in the second half. Erling Haaland who bagged a hat trick should have been sent off after a dangerous foul on the Palace defender. The VAR review favored Manchester City as Haaland didn't receive a Red Card despite his high boot challenge.

3. Manchester United:

Match: Southampton vs Manchester United.

Manchester United was favored in week four after the VAR failed to award a penalty to Southampton despite a clear handball committed by Mc Tominay in his box. I believe that was a clear penalty but the VAR's poor decisions didn't award it as it contributed to Southampton's loss and Manchester United's win.
