𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐋𝐒𝐄𝐀 𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒: One Tough EPL Fixture Chelsea Could Lose In The Month Of August

THE 2022/23 ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE season is set to begin this weekend. It is what football fans all over the world have long anticipated for, and now it's here right in our eyes. Arsenal will taking on Crystal Palace on Friday, 5th August, 2022, as the first EPL match of the season. Nothing more but surprises, is expected in this encounter.

Chelsea football club have got a couple of disappointments this summer, having lost two big defenders for free to Barcelona - Antoni Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.

The Spanish giants beat them to the signing of top targets like Raphinha and Jules Kounde. Their top striker in the person of Romelu Lukaku, also left the club on loan to Inter Milan, leaving them without a striker heading to the new season. Despite the signing of Koulibaly and Raheem Sterling, the Blues are obviously not prepared for the new season.

Chelsea will be playing a total of four (4) EPL matches this month of August, but one fixture poses to be the most challenging. A match against a team that recruited a lot of top talents this summer, and is led by a proven world class coach.

Thomas Tuchel's men will be squaring up against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, 14th August, 2022 at the Stamford Bridge.

Spurs finished fourth place, behind Chelsea last season, with the help Italian gaffer, Antonio Conte. With the likes of Ivan Perisic, Yves Bissouma, Clement Lenglet Djed Spence and Richarlison now in the team, one could predict how dangerous the team will be under Conte.

Following Chelsea's current state and lack of squad depth, this is a match they could lose. Spurs are definitely the favourites to win this tie.
