SINCE the beginning of the 21st century till date, several clubs have spent billions of Euros in purchase of players. Nonetheless, I've decided to put up this article to highlight the top 12 highest spending clubs in the world in the 21st century.

1. CHELSEA - The Blues are currently ranked as the highest spending club in the world in the 21st century. According to reports gathered, they have spent a total amount of €2.63bn on transfers.

2. MANCHESTER CITY - Manchester City who have spent millions of Euros since Pep Guardiola took over as Head Coach are currently occupying second position having spend €2.45 billion on transfers.

3. BARCELONA - the third club on the list is Barcelona. According to reports gathered, the Spanish giants have spent €2.38 billion since the beginning of the 21st century till date.

4. JUVENTUS - the fourth team on the list is Juventus. The Italian giants are occupying fourth position having spent €2.30 billion on transfers.

5. REAL MADRID - The Spanish giants are arguably one of the highest spending sides in the world. On this list, they are occupying fifth position having spent €2.27 billion on transfers.

6. MANCHESTER UNITED - Manchester United who recently acquired the services of Lisandro Martinez and Tyrell Malacia are occupying sixth position with €2.10 billion spent on transfers.

Others are; PSG (€1.79bn), Inter Milan (€1.78bn), Liverpool (€1.74bn), Tottenham Hotspur (€1.53 bn), Arsenal (€1.52bn) and AC Milan (€1.51bn).
