EPL: Manchester City sets a new Premier League record

A new Premier League record valuation of more than €1 billion belongs to Manchester City. The current winners are valued at the highest amount ever by FootballTransfers, surpassing Manchester United, Liverpool, and Chelsea.

Even after signing the Norwegian international from the Bundesliga team this summer, City still had a transfer surplus even if they matched the release clause in Erling Haaland's contract with Borussia Dortmund.

Even though Haaland is behind England star Phil Foden as the club's second-most valuable player, he is quickly catching up after just a few weeks in the Premier League. In reality, it's estimated that Foden and Haaland are worth more than €250 million in total.

Liverpool are the second-most valuable side in the Premier League, according to FootballTransfers. The Reds are led by Andrew Robertson, who is valued at €78 million, and Trent Alexander-Arnold, who is worth €100 million. Chelsea, who smashed all records during the summer transfer window, are ranked third with a total squad valuation of €827 million, followed by Manchester United with €811 million. Tottenham rounds out the top five with 750 million euros.

A complex algorithm that considers a player's on-field performance as well as his surrounding circumstances determines the values supplied by FootballTransfers. The transfer fee is primarily influenced by the player's skill.

The rating for a player is calculated using a sizable number of in-game data points. In addition to their age, this helps determine the player's potential in the future. Older players often have reduced market prices as a result. This is demonstrated by Cristiano Ronaldo's €15 million transfer to Manchester United in 2021. Furthermore, elements like the duration of the contract and the strength of the selling club are taken into account.
