Liverpool destroyed Rangers 7-1 thanks to Mo Salah's fastest hat-trick in Champions League history today.
The Reds headed into this game off the back of a 3-2 loss to Arsenal in the Premier League and they needed a win here to boost their confidence ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash with Manchester City.
Jurgen Klopp rested a few of his key players today, with the likes of Mo Salah, Thiago Alcantara and Robertson dropped to the benched and replaced. But it would not pose a problem for the Red as they made light work of Rangers at the Ibrox Stadium.
The highlight of the game would be in the second half when Mo Salah was introduced into the game. Liverpool was well a truly on their way to victory, leading 3-1 on the night. But Mo Salah got into the thick of the action quickly and got 3 goals in 5 minutes, a Champions League record. And that was not the only record he broke tonight against the Rangers.
His 3 goals took him to 38 goals in the Champions League for Liverpool, the most of any player for a single Premier League team.
