BREAKING: Arsenal Could replace Chelsea in the Champions League Spot - See Reasons

The Premier League season is finally over with Arsenal finishing in fifth position which automatically sees them play in the UEFA Europa Cup next season but the Gunners have a lifeline as they could replace Chelsea in the Champions League. 

However, according to BBC Sports, the FA need to nominate clubs for UEFA competitions by the start of next month. Chelsea still have some major hurdles to overcome to get an owner in before then.

With that, If the deadline is not met, Arsenal get Chelsea's spot in the Champions League. 

The deal "still has major hurdles to overcome" according to a senior Whitehall insider.

It is also understood that because Roman Abramovic has a Portuguese passport, the takeover needs to be licensed by authorities in that country too.
