EPL Announces Player, Manager, Save, and Goal of the Month Award Winners for August

Player of the Month Award Winner

Manchester City star, Erling Haaland has won the Player of the Month award in the English Premier League in his first month in the league. The Norwegian striker has enjoyed a splendid start to his English Premier League career having scored nine league goals in August.

His performance in the month helped Manchester City win four of their opening five league games, drawing the remaining one. Along the way, Erling Haaland broke a couple of records.

The 22-year-old became only the sixth player to score hat-tricks in consecutive Premier League appearances after doing so against Palace and Forest.

Haaland is also the first player to win the award in his first month in the competition since Bruno Fernandes did so for Manchester United in February 2020.

Manager of the Month Award Winner

Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta deservedly won the Manager of the Month award after leading his team to a run of five wins in five games in the English Premier League.

The run was unfortunately halted by Manchester United on matchday six, however, the Arsenal manager had done enough to clinch the third English Premier League Manager of the Month award of his managerial career. His team is currently at the summit of the English Premier League table with 15 points from six league games.

Castro Save of the Month Award Winner

Nick Pope helped Newcastle United keep a clean sheet against Brighton and Hove Albion on August 13 but his most valuable contribution was when he stopped Adam Lallana's point-blank header.

Pope showed superb reflexes as he dived to his left, keeping out Adam Lallana's downward header and earning Newcastle a point.

It ensured the 30-year-old finished his first two matches at his new club with clean sheets in both, following his summer move from Burnley.

The English shot-stopper is the first-ever winner of the Castrol Save of the Month award. He topped a shortlist featuring seven other sensational saves by goalkeepers across August.

Goal of the Month Award Winner

Newcastle United star, Allan Saint-Maximin has won the English Premier League Goal of the Month award for August after scoring a 90th-minute equalizer against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Saint-Maximin met Hwang Hee-chan's high clearance with a first-time effort from the edge of the box that flew past Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper Jose Sa, who stood transfixed to the spot.
